Sorry to see that Captain Beefheart died today. I was never a fan, but when I was introduced to him at the age of 18 it did open my ears to sounds I never knew existed up to that point and helped to develop a musical open mindedness that I treasure to this day.

Saw this tonight… highly recommended.
Roger Ebert posted a link to this on Twitter and his blog saying that a couple of film critics list Menilmontant by director Dimitri Kirsanoff as their favourite film of all time. I can see the appeal… very creepy and mysterious. I love the visuals, and and the music adds a lot to this version as well.
My musical discovery of the day. A montreal based one man band whose mom sews his CD covers out of scraps. At a minimum don’t miss Tinfoil Hat.
